This book is a narrative of travels in different parts of Asia. This monograph contains narrative of his travels in Manchuria across the Gobi Deserts and Chinese Turkistan to Kashgar and Yarka from where he crossed the Himalayas by the Mustang pass to Srinagar. Through the remotest areas in Central Asia he has covered the places whose names were not to be found in the existing maps. The author shares with us the enjoyment he had felt in looking upon the Nature in its aspects wild, in distant unfrequented parts of the east and in mixing with strange and little known people who semi barbarians though there may be have no often more interesting traits of character than others in a higher scale of civilization. The narrative portrays the exotic terrain through desert, mountain and plain and brings in contact with so many types of the human race, from the highly cultured Hindus to the rough tribesman of the Himalayas. This book is quite interesting and fascinating to read.
