Sylvain Levi an orientalist and indologist, was a French scholar. He visited Nepal in the last days of Prime Minister Bir Shumsher. At the time it was published, it was the 1st attempt to portray a full scale history of Nepal based on thorough analysis of all available sources. This book is translated from the book originally written in French language Le Nepal: Etude Historique d'um Royaume Hindu.
