In this book I am attempting to illustrate a teachable and demonstrable approach to psychotherapy. The unique phenomenological world of each patient had to be taken into account. My thousands of hours of therapy with patients served to confirm the vast complexity of interactions that contributed and maintained the patient's conflicts. I began to use imagination to tap the patient's phenomenological world, with almost immediate results of increased awareness of conflicts by both the patient and myself. I am committed to the belief that the integration of the patient's phenomenology and the ability to experience it through imagination leads to the possibility, not only of great awareness of his position, but also of the direction he may take towards a healthy conflict resolution.
